Philippa Werry is the author of five published children’s novels, a picture book (Best mates, illustrated by Bob Kerr) and several non-fiction titles, as well as numerous stories, plays, poems and articles for educational publishers. Enemy at the gate (2008) and Anzac Day (2013) were both shortlisted for the New Zealand Post Children’s Book Awards, and Waitangi Day (2015) was shortlisted in the Children's Choice section of the NZ Book Awards for Children and Young Adults in 2015. Her latest title is a children's non-fiction book titled Armistice Day: the New Zealand story: what it is and why it matters (New Holland, 2016).
Philippa also writes travel articles and non-fiction for adults. She has been shortlisted for the Text Publishing Prize, the Royal Society of New Zealand Manhire Creative Science Writing Prize (three times) and the Joy Cowley Award.
